So far in the construction of what will be the Mayan Train route, about 3 thousand archaeological remains have been found in different sections, according to theNational Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH).
These vestiges have been found particularly in the third section, which includes Yucatán, a state where 630 have been found, and a part of Campeche; As well as in the fourth, which covers the state of Quintana Roo, in the latter 162 pieces have been discovered.
In the section that covers Chiapas and a part of Tabasco, 519 pieces have been discovered, followed by Campeche, where 1,554 remains have been found.
INAH indicated Among the nearly three thousand archaeological remains found there are monuments, pieces related to structures and foundations.
The excavation works for the construction of the megaproject are supervised by the National Council of Archeology, belonging to INAH, because it is an area where Mayan groups lived.
