The discovery of the Mayan palace, a great architectural structure, occurred in the ancient Kulubá city, near Cancun, east of Mexico, as published by the digital portal Sputnik.

The remains have six meters high, 55 meters long and 15 meters wide. In addition, it has six chambers and it seems that it was inhabited for two long periods, between 600-900 AD and 850-1050 A.D., as explained by the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH).

The archaeologists recovered the foundation, the stairs and a passage with pilasters.

INAH is working to recover the ancient splendor of this architectural complex and prepare it for public visits.

"These works are initial, we are just rescuing one of the most voluminous structures on the site," said archaeologist Alfredo Barrera Rubio.
