One of the entrance gates to the ancient city of Odeso, which was founded by the Milesians (from Miletus) at the beginning of the 6th century BC, was found during repairs in a public park in the Bulgarian city of Varna, on the Black Sea coast.

Along with the entrance gate, which was the southwestern gate of the ancient city, one of the towers was found, explained archaeologists from the Varna Regional History Museum.

This door was probably built during the Roman or Byzantine periodexplained archaeologist Valeri Yotov.

Odeso was founded at the end of the 7th century BC, the beginning of the 6th century BC. for the Greek settlers of Miletus, taking its name from an ancient Thracian settlement.

In the year 15 it became part of the Roman empire, within the province of Moesia, and from this time dates one of the most important archaeological remains of Varna, the thermal baths, which are among the largest in Bulgaria.
