The Atlascopcosaurus is one of several small herbivorous dinosaurs that have been discovered in Australia, of which they have been found in 1984, the upper jaw, a partial maxilla with teeth, and a series of remaining teeth.
Although the rest of the skeleton is unknown, its reconstruction has been made possible by the large number of closely related species of this genus, a small bipedal herbivore.
Its generic name comes from the Atlas Copco company, which provided the equipment for the excavation that discovered this dinosaur in 1984, and after the findings (remains of several species were found), the company later helped to excavate a 60-meter tunnel in a cliff on the seashore .
